Every major paycheck calculator online has the same problem — they were built for the average case. They ignore the rules that actually matter for your specific state. California’s SDI rate changed and none of the big sites updated correctly. Texas workers get a generic federal-only calculation with no explanation. New York employees have no idea why their paycheck looks so different from their offer letter.
We decided to fix that.
NetPayByState.com is a free, independent calculator built from the ground up for accuracy at the state level. Every calculator on this site is researched individually — we check the actual state tax authority, verify the rates, and update every calculator at the start of each tax year.
